学院现有美术学、绘画、视觉传达设计、环境设计和工艺美术5个本科专业，拥有艺术学硕士学位一级学科点，美术与书法和设计2个专业硕士学位授权点，民族学少数民族艺术（美术）1个硕士学位二级学科点。2022年，学院获批校级创意设计现代产业学院建设点，建有美术展览馆1个。
近年来，有60余件美术作品在全国美术作品展览中获奖或入选，260多件作品在省级展览中获奖或入选，其中国家级一等奖14项、国家级二等奖5项、国家级优秀奖31项，省级一等奖70项、二等奖80项、三等奖100项；有83名学生的作品在国际、国家级、省级各类画展中获奖或入选。
学院现为黑龙江省美术家协会、黑龙江省油画学会、黑龙江省艺术设计协会、黑龙江省黑陶科学技术学会4个省级学术团体副会长单位，佳木斯市美术家协会会长单位。
The College of Fine Arts offers five undergraduate programs: Fine Arts, Painting, Visual Communication Design, Environmental Design, and Craft Art. It holds a first-level discipline master's degree authorization in Art Studies, two professional master's degree authorizations in Fine Arts & Calligraphy and Design, and a secondary discipline master's program in Ethnic Minority Art (Fine Arts) under Ethnology.
In 2022, the college was approved as a university-level construction site for the Creative Design Modern Industry College and operates one art exhibition hall.
In recent years, over 60 artworks have been awarded or selected in national-level exhibitions, and more than 260 works have been recognized in provincial-level exhibitions. These include 14 national first prizes, 5 national second prizes, 31 national excellence awards, as well as 70 provincial first prizes, 80 provincial second prizes, and 100 provincial third prizes. Additionally, 83 students have had their works awarded or selected in international, national, and provincial exhibitions.
The college serves as a vice-president unit for four provincial academic organizations: the Heilongjiang Artists Association, the Heilongjiang Oil Painting Society, the Heilongjiang Art Design Association, and the Heilongjiang Black Pottery Science and Technology Society. It also holds the position of president unit for the Jiamusi Artists Association.
