学院现为黑龙江省重点马克思主义学院。设有思想政治教育1个本科专业，该专业为黑龙江省一流专业建设点。设有马克思主义理论、民族学2个硕士学位授权一级学科和学科教学（思政）教育硕士1个专业学位硕士点，其中，民族学硕士学科为黑龙江省唯一。拥有黑龙江省铸牢中华民族共同体意识研究基地、黑龙江省社会组织与社会建设研究基地、黑龙江省三江区域文化研究学术交流基地等10余个省市校级科研平台。学院先后获批黑龙江省高校思想政治理论课名师工作室和佳木斯市大中小学思政课一体化建设首批名师工作室。
The College is recognized as a Heilongjiang Provincial Key College of Marxism. It offers one undergraduate program in Ideological and Political Education, which is designated as a Heilongjiang Provincial First-Class Program construction site.
The college grants master's degrees in two first-level disciplines: Marxist Theory and Ethnology, along with one professional master's degree in Subject Teaching (Ideological and Political Education). Notably, the Ethnology master's program is the only one of its kind in Heilongjiang Province.
It houses over ten research platforms at the provincial, municipal, and university levels, including the Heilongjiang Provincial Research Base for Consolidating the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation, the Heilongjiang Provincial Social Organization and Social Construction Research Base, and the Heilongjiang Provincial Sanjiang Regional Culture Academic Exchange Base.
The college has been approved for the Heilongjiang Provincial Famous Teacher Studio for Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Higher Education and is among the first to establish a Famous Teacher Studio for the Integrated Development of Ideological and Political Education Across All Education Levels in Jiamusi City.
